Type: Red WinePinotage is a crossing of Pinot Noir, and Cinsault, that now finds a home in our estate vineyard as our signature red grape, with 8 acres planed in 5 different blocks. 2017 saw the first harvest of our Pinot Noir block, planted in 2014. Three unique clones of Pinot Noir were planted, 667, 777 and 115 allowing for a unique expressiveness and increased complexity in the winemaking stage. The 2019 growing season started with a late spring, that was wetter and cooler that the average Okanagan summer. August was lovely for the grapes with no smoke in the Valley for the first time since 2015. An early, cold fall, with frost in September lead to harvesting our fruit at less that optimal ripening, however with diligent vineyard management and hand picking, only quality fruit ended up on deck to be processed at the winery. Pinot Noir was harvested mid October, and Pinotage on Halloween, October 31st.
